Stream your Xbox One games to your Mac and enjoy your favorite titles whenever your TV isn't available or you would just rather play on your laptop
OneCast features: Supports HD 1080p video for crisp, smooth gameplay Various control methods including the Xbox One wireless controller, any MFi game controller, or the built in virtual on-screen controller Highly tuned performance with extremely low lag Multiple profile support so you can use any number of different Xbox One consoles or Xbox. Using OneCast locally with your Xbox One and Mac connected to your router is one thing, but connecting when you're away from home over the internet is entirely different. It is possible, but OneCast doesn't recommend it and I wasn't able to test it. The process involves a bunch of extra steps that, honestly, don't sound like they're worth it. OneCast runs natively on macOS, without requiring complex workarounds such as dual booting or virtualisation. Supports HD 1080p video for crisp, smooth gameplay. Play games using the original Xbox One wireless controller connected to your Mac by either USB or Bluetooth. Highly tuned performance with extremely low lag.
While things have started to change recently, Microsoft wasn't known for showing a lot of love to Mac users. Windows 10 have been able to stream Xbox One games to their computers for a long time, but there is no way to do this on macOS, at least not without a third-party tool.
OneCast is just that tool. It allows you to stream games from your Xbox One console directly to your Mac, and it all seems surprisingly simple. You just need to make sure your Mac and Xbox One are on the same network, enable streaming on your console, and then log in to your Microsoft account from your Mac.
Given that this isn't an official Microsoft app, it's amazing that it works as well as it does, begging the question of why an official option isn't available. Maybe Microsoft will get around to it at some point.
As with any game streaming service, it's important to ensure adequate network speed is available. Connection via a LAN cable is preferable, but if you're tired of dragging wires around, make sure that your router supports 5Ghz Wi-Fi, as this will provide much better performance than 2.4Ghz.
